Trip Itinerary

1st October - 7th October 2026

Day 1

We travel north with comfort stops en route, arriving at our overnight hotel in Northern England for dinner and a relaxing evening.

Day 2

We continue our journey into the heart of the Scottish Highlands, arriving at the Carrbridge Hotel, our base for the next four nights.

Day 3

An early start for an incredible rail journey across the ‘Top of Scotland’. The line to Kyle of Lochalsh is one of Britain’s most scenic, winding past dramatic mountains, mirror-like lochs, and rugged coastline. On arrival, enjoy time for lunch and take in the stunning views across to the Isle of Skye before rejoining our coach for a scenic drive back to the hotel.

Day 4

Today we head to Aviemore, a picture-perfect town with alpine charm nestled in the Cairngorm Mountains. Enjoy free time to explore before boarding the nostalgic Strathspey Railway. This 10-mile steam journey takes you through classic Highland scenery—heather-covered moors, peaceful glens, and distant mountain peaks.

Day 5

Experience one of the world’s most iconic train journeys aboard The Jacobite steam train. Departing from Fort William, this 42-mile route to Mallaig is rich in cinematic and natural beauty. Travel over the famed Glenfinnan Viaduct (featured in the Harry Potter films), past Britain’s deepest freshwater loch and Europe’s deepest seawater loch. In Glenfinnan, stretch your legs or visit the West Highland Railway Museum before continuing past white-sand beaches and dramatic coastal views. Spend free time in Mallaig before returning by steam train to Fort William.

Day 6

We bid farewell to the Highlands and travel to our overnight hotel in Northern England.

Day 7

Journey home to Wales, with comfort stops along the way.
