Enchanted Advent in the Black Forest

We depart from the UK and travel to Dover, where we board the ferry to Calais. It is then onto to our overnight hotel in northern France.

After breakfast, we travel through scenic France into Germany, arriving in Zell am Harmersbach. Here, we check in at the welcoming Hotel Klosterbräustuben.

This morning, we visit Freiburg, the festive heart of the Black Forest. Stroll through its medieval old town, admire the soaring Freiburg Minster, and perhaps explore the Augustiner Museum, all set against a backdrop of twinkling lights. After lunch, we cross into France to the enchanting town of Colmar, where the streets come alive with one of the region’s most magical Christmas markets—brimming with seasonal cheer.

This morning, we visit Triberg, home to Germany’s highest waterfalls and festive shops filled with Black Forest charm and Christmas delights. After lunch, we head to Wolfach to watch skilled glassblowers craft beautiful ornaments. We then visit the magical Gengenbach Christmas Market, set in a picturesque medieval town glowing with seasonal lights, before returning to the hotel.

Today is all about relaxation in the our hometown. Do as much or as little as you like!
