A scenic coach journey north through Scotland’s rolling hills, with comfort stops along the way to our overnight stay in Stirling.
Continue your journey to Thurso, where the scenery really ramps up. We pause at picturesque Caithness villages before reaching the Castletown Hotel.
Sail from Scrabster to Stromness via ferry, then embark on a full-day guided tour. Highlights include Skara Brae, a remarkably preserved Neolithic village older than Stonehenge; the grand Skaill House, overlooking the Bay of Skaill; and the haunting beauty of the wartime Italian Chapel. Return to Thurso in the evening.
Visit the atmospheric Castle of Mey, the Queen Mother’s former Highland retreat. Enjoy guided interior tours, stroll the walled gardens once loved by the late monarch, and perhaps sample local fare in the tearoom.
Begin the return journey south, with comfort stops and an overnight in a charming North England hotel.
