Day One - We depart Crymych and start our journey east. Sit back and relax as we go from coast to coast with comfort stops on the way. On arrival, a three-course evening meal awaits us.
Day Two - This morning we travel to Waldringfield to board MV Jahan for a cruise on the calm waters of the River Deben; one of the most beautiful spots on the East Coast. Following the cruise, visit Woodbridge, the largest market town on the river and home to one of only five tide-mills restored in the UK. After a visit here we make our way to Colchester, the former capital of England and Britain's first City. It has a rich and varied history that can be explored today through its museums, ruins, and by walking its streets. It has particularly strong connections to both its Roman Heritage, and the scars left by the Siege of Colchester during the English Civil War.
Day Three - After breakfast we travel to RHS Garden Hyde Hall (admission is included). An eclectic, yet fine garden with wonderful panoramic views over Essex which will surprise you. For lunch we make the short journey to the traditional seaside resort of Southend-on-Sea, home to the longest pier in the world. At Pier Head, see the active RNLI station and visit its gift shop, stroll along the promenade, or visit one of the town's shopping centres. While its lunchtime, you might as well treat yourself and grab some fish & chips.
Day Four – It’s small village day today. After breakfast we travel to Lavenham. Known as 'England's Finest Medieval Village', Lavenham is a quaint village with fine examples of timber framed Tudor buildings. We then continue to Flatford, home to the 18th century mill made famous in Constable's paintings, before visiting the delightful village of Dedham. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of this village and have a coffee while watching the world go by.
Day Five - Sadly it’s time to leave the Five Lakes hotel and start our way home.
