This morning, we make our way to the ferry and then onto Waterford for our overnight stay at Treacy’s Hotel where our evening meal awaits.
After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we start the scenic journey towards our hotel in Bantry, with comfort stops along the way.
Today we enjoy a fantastic cruise and guided tour of the beautiful and fascinating Cape Clear Island. Also known as Costa De Cape due to its location south of the mainland, the weather is
known to be a total contrast to that of the mainland, so much so you can think you are in the Mediterranean Sea. The journey over offers splendid views and a chance to see any passing seals and dolphins in these wildlife-rich waters. On arrival on the island, we enjoy a short tour of the island, taking in its rich history and sites of interest, before beginning the journey back to the charming fishing village of Baltimore. After time for lunch here, we head to the compelling Skibbereen Heritage Centre for our guided tour.
Today we enjoy a scenic drive along the Atlantic Ocean, through the rugged and spectacular Beara Peninsula, Ireland’s best kept secret. Less well known than the Ring of Kerry, the Ring of Beara is full of lush natural beauty, wild landscapes, unspoilt seascapes, and friendly locals. Starting from the town of Kenmare, we take in historic and colourful villages and spectacular views of Kenmare Bay to the north and Bantry Bay to the south. During the drive, we stop at Molly Gallivan’s Cottage & Traditional Farm, where we enjoy a guided tour, with the
additional treat of some tea and scones.
This morning we head to Bantry House and Garden where we have time to explore the house and stunning formal gardens. You may decide to treat yourself in the tearoom at your leisure. It is then back to Bantry where you will have the afternoon at your leisure to enjoy this stunning resort.
After breakfast, we begin our journey home.
