The Langstone Quays Resort, Chichester, offers a stunning harbourside setting in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that is Chichester Harbour.
We depart in the morning and head towards the southcoast to our hotel which is The Langstone Quays Resort in the Chichester harbour area.
After a leisurely breakfast, we head to Southsea for a10-minute hop-over by hovercraft to Ryde on the lovely Isle of Wight. You are now free to explore this welcoming town, with it’s quirkymixture of traditional seaside fun, Victorian architecture and unexpected hidden gems!
This morning we make our way to visit the Weald and Downland Living Museum a perfect place for those of us who want to see, touch and even smell what life was really like for people living in years gone by. The museum covers 40 acres, with over 50 historic buildings dating from 950AD to the 19th century, along with gardens, farm animals, walks and a mill pond. To continue our day excursion, we travel to the cathedral city of Chichester – a well-preserved Georgian city with plenty of good shops within it’s ancient city walls for you to enjoy.
Today we plan on bringing history to life with a visit to the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard. This is sure to take you on a journey through time, by uncovering some of the navy’s best-kept secrets with first-hand accounts from the Royal Navy’s finest, past and present. Then to end our day on a high a visit to Portsmouth’s famous Spinnaker Tower is a must, a stunning 170 metre viewing tower. You could venture across the amazing glass Sky Walk and watch the boats bobbing in the waves below your feet!
It’s time to depart, and begin our journey home, with comfort stops en route.
