The Celtic Royal Hotel is one of the finest hotels in North Wales, set within a close walking distance of Caernarfon town centre. A romantic hotel that brings the best of Caernarfon to your doorstep. Excellent leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi.
Day One – This morning, we head North for our hotel in Caernarfon, with a comfort stop on route.
Day Two – After breakfast, we will head to Portmeirion, home of an Italian village designed by Welsh architect Sir Clough Williams Ellis between 1925 and 1976. Set in 70 acres of spectacular woodland and subtropical gardens, it has been a location for many films and television shows. After a few hours of exploring, we head back to the hotel to freshen up before the evening’s meal and entertainment.
Day Three – After breakfast we head for Anglesey, where we visit Halen Môn for a behind the Scenes tour. We move on then for a visit to the village and Railway Station with the longest name in Europe Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllatyisiliogogogoch. Another must while on Anglesey is a walk through the seaside town of Beaumaris with its mix of medieval, Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture and it’s 13th Century Castle, as well as shops, cafés and independent shops.
Day Four –A tour and wine tasting at nearby Pant Du Vineyard awaits. Free afternoon in Caernarfon where you could visit the striking 13th century castle, do some retail shopping or just relax with a drink on the banks of the Menai.
Day Five – It’s time to head for home, travelling over Snowdon Pass through Llanberis with a stop at Betws y Coed: a very busy and popular village for lunch. We head West through Dolwyddelan and Blaenau Ffestiniog to be home late afternoon.
