The most southerly of the Channel Islands, Jersey has a feeling of home with a taste of the continent, so it’s no wonder holidays here are so popular. It has one of the best sunshine records in the British Isles and there’s plenty to see and do. With its rich history, from the Romans to the Vikings, Germans and the French, Jersey boasts multi-cultural magnificence of today. Famous for its Jersey cows, potatoes, cream and seafood, there is something for everyone on this gorgeous, compact island.
*Note: Due to the very narrow roads on the Island, we will have a local Coach company meet us at the Port to take us to our Hotel and all tours during our stay in Jersey.
The Merton Hotel, St Saviour, St Hellier is the perfect base for our Jersey holiday, only a 10-minute walk from the capital of St Hellier itself. Boasting leisure facilities by the yards, with an exclusive pool and leisure club, sauna, steam room and even an outdoor heated pool, we’re sure you will have plenty to do during your free days on the island. The Merton Hotel offers some of the very best evening entertainment in Jersey ranging from tribute nights, the glitz and glamour of variety acts, hilarious stand-up comedy, magic and much more.
Day 1 - We take a leisurely drive to our overnight hotel in Bournemouth, with comfort stops on route.
Day 2 - An early morning Ferry crossing to Jersey awaits. We will then continue to our hotel in St Hellier for our four-night stay at the beautiful Merton Hotel.
Day 3 – Today we will enjoy a full day tour of the island with excellent live and informative commentary from your experienced Jersey driver. You can sit back and enjoy the view from the comfort of your seat and appreciate all of Jersey’s stunning and diverse coastline. During the day, we will visit the extraordinary sights of St Aubin’s Bay, St Brelade Bay, the Corbière Lighthouse, St Ouen’s Bay, Grève De Lecq, the Northern coastline, Gorey Harbour and returning via the varied and rugged east coast. Driving along the coast road, you will have the perfect view of the Island’s picturesque beaches and bays. Beaches in Jersey range from isolated coves to wide golden sandy beaches on the south and west coasts. Make sure you have your camera ready for this unforgettable drive.
Day 4 + 5 – At your leisure. You may like to revisit some of the places you passed on yesterday’s island tour. Or, maybe just relax at the hotel, making the most of the excellent facilities available for you.St Hellier itself is well worth a visit with plenty of shops, museums and activities to suit everyone. An excellent attraction on the island is the Jersey War Tunnels; a partially completed underground hospital complex in St. Lawrence, Jersey, built by German occupying forces during the occupation of Jersey during World War II, with over 1 km of tunnels to see. Jersey Zoo is also a popular attraction and again only a short bus journey from your hotel. It’s up to you to do as little, or as much as you like during these days.
Day Six – Sadly, it’s time to pack our cases and head for home, crossing again on the ferry to Poole, before heading towards the M4 and our journey back to Wales.
